By subscribing to our services and using our website you are agreeing to the terms and conditions set out below. Please read them carefully.→ Payment:
Payment will be taken in full at the time you subscribe to our services with the exception of continuous subscriptions which will be charged at £15 per month for the duration of the subscription period (£21 for Europe, £28 for USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan).
Continuous subscription payments will always occur on the day of the month on which you originally started your subscription or the nearest equivalent.
If your PayPal payment fails for whatever reason you will be automatically unsubscribed from our services and will have to sign up again to continue your subscription.
We are not responsible for any banking charges incurred due to payment being taken from your account
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your subscription at any time and for any reason. If this happens we will let you know and refund any money we have received for boxes not yet sent.
→ Postage and Delivery
We start dispatching our boxes on the 13th of every month. If the 13th falls on a Sunday or bank holiday we will start the following working day. Our next box will be sent on .
Parcels are sent via Royal Mail using a non-sign for service. They will also, in most cases, fit through your letterbox. This means you do not have to be in for your delivery. It also means your parcel will not have a tracking number.
UK delivery time is 1-7 working days. International delivery time is usually 10-28 days.
Please allow 14 working days before contacting us about a missing delivery or 28 working days if you are overseas.
Please do not hold us responsible for delays that are caused by the postal service. These things are sadly beyond our control.
It is your responsibility to ensure the address we have for you is correct. Please take extra care when signing up and double-check your PayPal receipt. We cannot be held responsible for failed delivery if the address we hold for you is incorrect.
If you need to change your address during your subscription period please contact us as far in advance as possible to avoid any problems. If you contact us after the 1st of the month in which your next box is due we may not be able to change your address until the following month.
→ Returns and Exchanges.
We hope that you will not want to do this. After all, that's really not the point of a surprise subscription service. However, if you are desperately unhappy with your book, please let us know within 7 days of receipt and we can work something out.
In the event of a return or exchange you will be responsible for all postage and packaging charges including those incurred by us when initially sending out your box.
If your parcel is returned to us as undeliverable we will contact you and can send it out again if you send us a little bit of extra money to cover the redelivery.
→ Cancelling your membership
If you have a continuous subscription you can cancel your membership at any point up until your monthly payment has been made. If you have already paid for a box at the time of cancellation you will receive one last box from us. Please check your PayPal receipt to find out what date your PayPal payments are made on. If you have any other form of subscription and wish to cancel it before it has expired you must contact us so we can assess the situation. Please note that we are not obliged to offer you a refund in this case as you have already been included in our buying and making plans for the coming months but we will look at each case individually.
All personal details collected on this website will be used for the sole purpose of providing you with your subscription box and will not be disclosed to any third party.
By providing us with your email address you are granting us permission to contact you via email. We will only contact you about your order/s and will not send you any unsolicited mail (e.g. newsletters).
If you have filled in a questionnaire letting us know your reading preferences we will keep a record of this alongside your name, email address and mailing address. The purpose of this is to make sure we do not send you any duplicate books should you wish to continue to use our subscription services in the future. We use this information for no other purpose and do not share it with any third party. We generally store this information for four years beyond the date your subscription ends. You can ask us to delete this information at any time by contacting us.
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without notifying you. The most current version of the terms and conditions will always be displayed on this website.
